Big 1st Inning Propels Northwood to Win 11-0

Northwood Varsity Timberwolves scored nine runs in the first inning, which helped them defeat Capistrano Valley Christian 11-0 on Saturday. 
 

Luke Hansen doubled, scoring two runs, Rylan Littlejohn singled, scoring one run, Kaden Chan singled, scoring one run, Andres Hernandez drew a walk, scoring one run, Kai Mo drew a walk, scoring one run, Paul Grossman singled, scoring two runs, and Hansen singled, scoring one run.

 

Garret Stevenson earned the win for Northwood Varsity Timberwolves. They allowed five hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out three and walking one. Reid Boyer took the loss for Capistrano Valley Christian. They went one inning, allowing nine runs (four earned) on seven hits, striking out two and walking three. 

 

Diego Torres threw two innings of shutout ball for Northwood Varsity Timberwolves in relief. The reliever allowed zero hits, striking out four and walking one.

 

Northwood Varsity Timberwolves piled up 11 hits in 

the game. Hansen drove the middle of the lineup, leading Northwood Varsity Timberwolves with three runs batted in. The outfielder went 2-for-3 on the day. Grossman, Hansen, Casey Euper, and Chan each collected two hits for Northwood Varsity Timberwolves. Northwood Varsity Timberwolves turned three double plays in the game.

 

Bryant Loo, Capistrano Valley Christian's number eight hitter, led the team with two hits in three at-bats.
