Northwood Timberwolves Varsity snagged a late lead and defeated University 5-4 on Friday. The game was tied at two with Northwood Timberwolves Varsity batting in the top of the fifth when Adam Harper singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

In the top of the sixth, Jacob Park singled on a 2-2 count and scored two runs. In the bottom of the sixth, University  answered with two of their own. Northwood Timberwolves Varsity entered the bottome of the 7th to defend a one-run lead and succesfully got 3 outs.

Harper started the game for Northwood Timberwolves Varsity. The righthander lasted four innings, allowing two hits and two runs while striking out four and walking one.

Darren Shorter was credited with the victory for Northwood Timberwolves Varsity. The righty surrendered two runs on three hits over three innings, striking out four and walking one.
